Biodiversity on the Llano Estacado
A new permanent exhibit, Biodiversity of the Llano Estacado features an in depth look at this living landscape and explores the importance of biodiversity and the seven major habitats which supports a variety of wildlife. The challenge of this exhibition was to make all the components aesthetically cohesive throughout the seven habitats. I created a customize color palette, based on the color scheme of each habitat in the Llano Estacado: Grasslands and Mixed Prairie, Agriculture, Urban, Salinas, Playas, Sand Dunes, and Canyons. With the use of color, photography, and graphics I was able to created a fluid transition between each habitat, while at the same time emphasizing their differences.
I develop the color scheme, visual graphic themes, rail panels, and text panels.

Each section is color coded, the color of each section is reflected on the text panels, rail panels colored boarder, and half moon color background for each habitat. I created the symbols designated to each habitat. The symbols work as a key to inform the viewer that there is overlap between animals and various habitats.
Layout & Installation
The challenge was to make the animals and their bases aesthetically cohesive throughout the seven different habitats. Each animal is mounted on a unique base. I constructed new bases with plaster, I then covered the base with painted sand to create cohesiveness color and texture transition.
