Linda Fisher is a prolific quilter beginning with her first quilt as an adult in 1994 and continuing through the present (2020). She has taught many people in West Texas to quilt. She is a member of the Lubbock day quilt guild (The South Plains Quilt Guild) and the Caprock Art Quilters. She loves to take old blocks and finish quilts and to put her own artistic twist on traditional quilt patterns.

While many of her quilts reference traditional patterns she arranges the blocks in a unique manner. Mrs. Fisher has taught quilting classes, served as a judge and shared her love of quilting with organizations throughout West Texas. Her understanding of the importance of preservation led to financial contributions and donations of quilts and quilt related materials that have significantly strengthened the quilt Collection at the Museum of Texas Tech University.

Louise Hopkins Underwood: A Stylish Woman Who Changed Her Community

For the inaugural exhibit in the newly designated Clothing and Textiles Gallery, the Museum has chosen to showcase clothing worn by Louise Underwood, a longtime friend and active volunteer in of the Museum of Texas Tech University Association. Garments were selected from generous wardrobe donations made by Mrs. Underwood over many years, and they reflect styles from different eras as well as work of various designers.

Our team build the platforms, constructed plexiglass stands, and choose the color palette. I design all the visual graphics for this exhibit.
